The Arrival of .Vanya.

fire...water...earth...air...ice...snow...trees...flames...flames...flames...
Vanya was out of breath, as if she had run for miles without stopping. Gasping for air, in a rare show of vulnerability, she sank to the ground, which was hot... so hot.
Quickly, she regained her composure and jumped to her feet, spinning around, looking for any signs of life.

A cool breeze swept over the ground, freezing the area where it had hit nd then dissolving immediately. A raven haired centauress gazed at Vanya with ice blue eyes, her white equestrian body glittering with melting ice. She had black flared stockings and a black silky tail, she wore a pair of twin longswords strapped against her back, embedded with sapphires and diamonds. A black and silver bow was also strung along with a small quiver of arrows. She also wore a black leather necklace around her neck, where a light blue and silver stone hung from the base, swirling slowly. She kept her gaze on Vanya.
"Greetings...I am Asenceana, Kaitegial of Avalon" She bowed slightly

Zan arrived in a more dramatic way: golden grains of sand began to vibrate, quicker and quicker, until suddenly, they exploded in a quick blaze of fire. The fire sucked itself into a fiery silhouette, then quickly cooled and hardened into Zan.
"Glad to see that you two have met. Vanya, Asenceana is a Kaitegial, the abassador of the land of Avalon to this world. Vanya is competing for the place of Henka in the Fire court. Speaking of which, we should be getting on." She gestured towards a white glow that came from behind a large dune.

Walking around the dune, the three of them immeidiately threw up their arms protectively. Squinting, their eyes slowly adapted to the sight. It was a city, blazing white hot and, literally, burning. It was covered with danced flames, and the bronze buildings were fashioned like hungry tongues of searing fire. They danced and twisted, tapering to sharp points that melted into the glare of the real flames, indistinguishable from one another. The city gates were originally twin curtains of stiff bronze mesh, but they were completely swarming with salamanders. They were wide open now, and a large crowd was gathered around them. The reason was soon apparent, the Camenae were seated at the peak of a particularily large dune to the left of the gates, overlooking the city. They hailed Zan et co, "Greetings Valeska, Kaitegial and Vanya, child of Fire."

Vanya looked on, unperturbed by the appearance of the Camenae. She turned her neck a few times, getting rid of cracks, then bowed low.

Lithew, the frosty Air elf, looked hot and flustered. Sweat beading his brow, he snapped, "Well, can we begin? It's not as if we all enjoy this...exotic weather."
The Fire elf who had winked at Vanya stood up. He seemed to be fully enjoying himself, grinning with pleasure. Basking in the white-hot blaze of the city, he lazily announced, "Let the Judgments begin!"

Asenceana watched in silence as the Judgement commenced, her hair flowing back from her face from the icy north wind she had conjured to blow at her while she was here. She felt perfectly at ease in this weather because of what her magic could do.

"All competitors step up before this...dune." That was from the Earth elf who had protected Vanya at their previous meeting. She did not look so good. Her skin looked dry and stretched, and her lips were cracking.
At her words, a few elves detached themselves from the well-tanned crowd and walked up to the dune.

The first to reach the dune was a beefy, thickset man. Waddling up, he looked around blearily. Right besides him in sharp constrast was a tall, thin man, as black as pitch. The third competitor was also a male, more boy than man. He was light-skinned by comparison, and showed lithe, sinewy muscles under his short-sleeved shirt.

Casting a worried glance at the suffering Earth elf, the Fire elf boomed, "Names!"
In order of their appearance, the men went, "Verni." "Katu." "Chian."
Nodding, the Fire elf from the Camenae raised a large hand. "Repeat after me..."
"Halt!" The imperial voice belonged to that of a female. Short and lean, she had deep amber eyes and metallic looking golden skin. She strode up to the dune briskly and looked at the men fiercly, looking for all the world like a golden eagle. "I wish to compete as well for the position of Henka. I am Merla."

The Fire elf seemed amused by her haughty attitude. "Welcome, Merla. Glad to see at least one female competing." Scanning the crowds, he raised a bushy eyebrow and asked, "Anybody else?"
